Generate compliance reports and export consent data

Overview

CookieConfig provides comprehensive reporting and data export capabilities to help you meet compliance requirements, conduct audits, and analyze consent data. All export formats maintain data integrity and include verification checksums.

Report Types

Compliance Audit Reports

Generate formal compliance reports for regulatory audits and internal reviews. These PDF reports include:

  • Executive summary of consent metrics
  • Detailed consent rate breakdowns by category
  • Geographic distribution of consents
  • Consent interaction trends over time
  • Legal attestation and data verification signatures
  • Compliance checklist for GDPR, CCPA, and other regulations

Best for: Quarterly compliance reviews, DPO reports, regulatory submissions, and legal documentation.

Monthly Summary Reports

Automated monthly reports that provide a high-level overview of your consent management performance:

  • Total banner impressions and interactions
  • Month-over-month consent rate changes
  • Top-performing pages by consent rate
  • Regional consent variations
  • Cookie category acceptance rates

Best for: Regular monitoring, stakeholder updates, and tracking improvements over time.

Custom Date Range Reports

Generate reports for any specific time period to analyze campaigns, website changes, or seasonal variations. Specify exact start and end dates to match your business needs.

Best for: Campaign analysis, A/B test evaluation, incident investigation, and custom business reporting.

Data Export Formats

PDF Exports

Professional PDF reports suitable for presentation and compliance documentation. PDFs include:

  • Company branding and logo
  • Visual charts and graphs
  • Formatted tables with consent data
  • Digital signatures for authenticity
  • Page numbers and table of contents

How to generate:

  1. Navigate to Analytics > Reports in your dashboard
  2. Select "PDF Report" from the export dropdown
  3. Choose your date range
  4. Configure report sections (summary, detailed logs, charts)
  5. Click "Generate PDF"
  6. Download will begin automatically (typically 10-30 seconds)

CSV Exports

Raw consent data in CSV format for analysis in Excel, Google Sheets, or data analytics tools. CSV exports include:

  • Timestamp (ISO 8601 format)
  • Visitor ID (pseudonymized)
  • Country and region codes
  • Consent action (accept_all, reject_all, customize)
  • Cookie category preferences (true/false for each)

How to export:

  1. Go to Analytics > Consent Logs
  2. Apply any filters (date range, country, consent type)
  3. Click "Export CSV"
  4. File downloads immediately

Best for: Data analysis, custom visualizations, integration with business intelligence tools, and bulk data processing.

JSON Exports

Structured JSON data for programmatic access and integration with other systems. JSON exports maintain complete data fidelity including nested structures and metadata.

Example JSON structure:

{
  "export_date": "2025-10-21T14:30:00Z",
  "date_range": {
    "start": "2025-10-01T00:00:00Z",
    "end": "2025-10-21T23:59:59Z"
  },
  "summary": {
    "total_impressions": 45230,
    "total_consents": 38450,
    "consent_rate": 0.85
  }
}

Best for: API integration, automated data pipelines, custom analytics dashboards, and data warehouse imports.

Pro Tip

Set up a monthly scheduled PDF report for your DPO or compliance team, and a weekly CSV export for your analytics team. This ensures everyone has the data they need without manual work.

Best Practices

  • Regular Backups: Export and store consent data monthly for audit trails
  • Version Control: Include banner version in exports to track configuration changes
  • Secure Storage: Store exported consent data securely with encryption
  • Data Retention: Follow your organization's data retention policies
  • Access Control: Limit report access to authorized personnel only
  • Validation: Periodically verify export data integrity using checksums
