Analytics Dashboard

Understanding your cookie consent analytics and user behavior

Overview

The CookieConfig analytics dashboard provides comprehensive insights into how users interact with your cookie consent banner, their preferences, and compliance metrics.

Accessing Your Dashboard

  1. Log in to your CookieConfig dashboard
  2. Select the website you want to view analytics for
  3. The main dashboard shows an overview of all metrics

Key Metrics

Consent Rate

The percentage of visitors who actively interact with your cookie banner (either accepting, rejecting, or customizing preferences).

Why it matters: A low consent rate may indicate banner visibility issues or user experience problems.

Typical range: 60-90% of visitors interact with the banner.

Acceptance Rate

The percentage of users who click "Accept All" vs. those who reject or customize.

What to expect:

  • Accept All: 40-70% (varies by region and industry)
  • Reject All: 10-30%
  • Customize: 5-15%

Category Preferences

Breakdown of which cookie categories users accept most often:

  • Necessary: Always 100% (required)
  • Functional: Typically 60-80%
  • Analytics: Typically 40-60%
  • Marketing: Typically 20-40%

Geographic Distribution

See where your visitors are located and how consent rates vary by country. This helps ensure compliance with regional regulations (GDPR for EU, CCPA for California, etc.).

Page Views and Interactions

Track total page views, banner impressions, and user interactions over time. This data helps you understand traffic patterns and banner effectiveness.

Privacy Note

CookieConfig analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. Individual visitor IDs are pseudonymized and cannot be used to identify real people. We never store personally identifiable information in consent logs.

Best Practices

  • Review weekly: Check your dashboard at least weekly to spot trends early
  • Monitor after changes: Always check analytics after updating your banner design or text
  • Compare periods: Use month-over-month comparisons to identify improvements or issues
  • Keep records: Export monthly reports for compliance documentation
  • Act on insights: Use the data to improve your cookie consent experience
